Women's Flight 

Don't try to clip our wings
With scissors of societal norm
We have been oppressed
For way too long.

Don't try to hold us down
In the cage of stereotypes
For we know our worth
And our ideas we will put forth.

Don't try to stop our flight
With your condescending backbite
For we are meant to soar
Unnerved by your gender-based uproar.

We are no longer distressed damsels
We are queens in our own castles
Proving ourselves in various fields
Talents of multitasking we women wield.

Let's spread our wings
And fly till great heights
Supporting each other
In our emancipated flight.

Ever wondered that people can be compared to rocks? Yes we have them in all sizes and colours! Some people are like the big rocks with a strong base, those are the ones you can lean on when you are at your weakest. They will still stand tall and support you no matter the circumstances. You can shed the weight of your griefs and tears on them. While others are like boulders which are placed to block a pathway. These are the people who won't let you go further and emancipate, they will stay put right there with their orthodox beliefs and no matter what you do they won't melt. They won’t budge an inch from their position and rather drag you down with their toxic magnet. They are the permanent obstacle for both your personality development and success.   Gusty winds howled loudly outside while Sonia tossed and turned in bed, trying to weather the storm of emotions churning within her. Her mind drowned in a whirlpool of nostalgia, two years ago, on a similar stormy night, she was on the seventh sky after Ray had professed his love for her. Now the same sky rippled with thunder and lightning.
