The First Hint of Dawn

There I watched
The brightly glowing ball
Slowly rising
Amid the lush clump of trees

The clouds parted
And a fiery orange streak burst out
A warm ray of sunlight
gently paled down.

The early morning dewdrops scintillated
Sending tiny flashes of light
Like dainty diamonds
Set on the velvety leaves.

And she turned to her son:
Someday you will also rise
To the pinnacle
my child.

You will make
small things shine too
With the light
of your success.

As she held him skywards
He obliterated the sun
and haloed he was
She knew he was sun-kissed!

  2. A tribute to the might of the Sun which we take for granted. Indeed the Sun is the secret of success if we know how to transmute His energy through Surya Namaskar. The Sun is in us as the Sixth Chakra. And by lighting this chakra "you will also rise to the pinnacle my child". On this note Happy Makar Sankranti.
