Book Review - Broken Dreams

Book title : Broken Dreams - A Callipur Murder Mystery

Author: Aditya Banerjee

Cover: The cover shows a car in a garage in the background and a newspaper in the foreground.

The book opens up in Callipur with an introduction detailing in  which year the story is set along with relevant actualities pertaining to that period so that the reader can see herself in the exact time period.
Next thing which I liked was the fact that  each chapter was dedicated to a character. Each chapter reveals different layers of the attributed  character all the while building the rising action of the plot. The narration is no-nonsense and to the point.

The murder happens at the end of the first chapter after which the book is unputdownable. New characters are introduced for the next five chapters while the case is under investigation.  the reader's mind is still trying to guess who is the suspect. The remaining chapters are now dedicated to specific events which eventually brings closure to the mystery. The book is definitely a page-turner as your mind juggles between potential suspects. The denouement is done well ending with the revelation.
