Across the Door

She saw a glow afar...she treaded forwards. Yes! There it was... A door!
Finally...an opportunity,
 A way to break free,
                   A new horizon,
                             Another milestone.
 Her steps became faster and her heart pounded heavily on her chest. reaching the threshold she stumbled to a halt as she gazed what lay in front.

The distance from one side of the door to the other can be a mere footstep like it can be a whole journey.

 She peered... She could discern a soft light with dancing shadows as if beckoning her to approach them.  she lifted her skirt daintily took a step forward.Suddenly she became conscious of her gown studded with stones weighing her down... Did i just run along the full length of a corridor in this gown?? she muttered.

She took a step forward...and her eyes widened!!
